December 2020

A good friend gave me Michael Portillo's Greatest British Railway Journeys book for my birthday yesterday.  Approximately one third of the trains planned on my tour are featured in this book!

Network Rail have cancelled publication of the December 2020 electronic National Rail Timetable (eNRT) which was due last month.

I have contacted them asking what will happen to the May 2021 eNRT next year because I rely 100% on this timetable to schedule my tour.  Because of Covid there will be many alterations in 2021 and I need to be aware of them before finalising the schedule.

23 Dec 2020:

Network Rail say

 "You would need to contact National Rail Enquiries as they are responsible for releasing electronic information on  timetables."

24 Dec 2020;

 National Rail say:

"National Rail Enquiries is only an information service provider and we do not operate services or set timetables. The information displayed on our website is provided by the relevant Train Operating Companies.

"The timetable is set by the Train Operating Company in coordination with Network Rail, and it’s generally released up to twelve weeks in advance.

"I would also like to highlight that currently the timetables are not confirmed up to twelve weeks in advance as there is a possibility that it might change due to the current pandemic situation.

"I would recommend that you check this information closer to the time, as there is a possibility that we might receive some update from Network Rail and the Train Operating Companies."
