06a: Troon achieved

 Wed 24 Aug

Carlisle Station:
The 09:58 train to Kilmarnock is here but can't board yet:
I think that stuff outside is called rain, I haven't seen it in a long time:
River Esk. Crossed the border 2 minutes later:
River Annan:
Dumfries, a uni friend, Harry Illing, came from here:

River Nith:
Nith again:
No longer Nith now we're getting a little Ayr
Today's "corrections" trip starts here. Easy change, you see the train I arrived on across the platform. This one starts from here in 15min
River Irvine:
Troon. If I hadn't stopped to take this photo I could have caught an earlier train:
Now on the way to Glasgow:
Firth of Clyde is somewhere over there:
River Irvine at Irvine:
Castle Semple:

River Clyde:

Today's "corrections" trip ends here with a free snack in the Glasgow first-class lounge:
For the third time in 3 Avanti trains I was booked an Aisle Back seat (on right in photo) when the Window Facing I'm now sitting in is available nearby.
Oh dear! Another snack.
Carlisle again and another easy change. Just got off the Pendolino on p4 out of shot on the left and the Newcastle train starts from p5 here on the right.
The Newcastle train:
River Eden
Great name for a station
River Tyne

Newcastle
This is the Hampton. A lot nicer than the Royal Station across the road but, strangely, their reception is on the second floor.
