Re-scheduling time is approaching
The rail strike(s) now looking even more dangerous. By law, strikes must be announced two weeks ahead of the day. But can they be extended without warning? The current strikes were announced on Tue 7 June, hence they start on Tue 22 June, not Monday 21 June. I have not seen or heard anything about week beginning 28 June so, presumably all will be back to normal then. Perhaps they can not or will not announce future strikes until the outcome of the first week of strikes is known i.e. week beginning 28 June. Key for me then is whether or not anything is announced on 28/29/30 June. Here's today's strike news: News 15 June Word is that there'll be no trains at all north of Edinburgh-Glasgow or towards Penzance. Services that do run will start 7:30 and terminate 18:30. That's not a problem to me, b ut no services to Bournemouth or Swansea is a stopper as far as I'm concerned. The main message is that ru ral and district lines will be most affected by...
